Capitol Iron Works completed the fabrication and installation of two new custom iron railings for a residential property located on Meadow Ln in Potomac, MD. This project focused on blending high-end decorative appeal with structural safety. Design Style: Traditional Chippendale-style design featuring intricate geometric patterns for a sophisticated architectural look. Structural Components: All posts are constructed from 1" x 1" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square tubing, providing a solid foundation. Infill Detail: The decorative pickets consist of 1/2" x 1/2" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square bars, while the horizontals utilize 1" x 1/2" x 1/8" A-36 Steel Bar Channel. Top Handrail: Finished with a robust 1-15/16" Steel Cover Rail for a comfortable and classic grip. Finish: The entire assembly is finished in a Black Matte Powder Coat for a sleek, premium look and superior weather resistance. The Problem We Solved The client needed to enhance their home’s exterior with a railing system that offered more character than standard vertical pickets. We provided a custom-fabricated Chippendale design that serves as a focal point for the property while ensuring full compliance with safety standards and long-term durability against the elements.
