Capitol Iron Works completed the fabrication and installation of a custom Iron Fence and Gate for a residential project in the Woodland Drive NW neighborhood of Washington, DC. This project involved a precision-engineered 13’ fence section integrated directly into existing masonry. Design Style: A classic Traditional design featuring clean vertical lines that complement the historic aesthetic of NW Washington, DC. Structural Components: The posts are constructed from 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square tubing, ensuring a rigid and secure foundation. The top rail features a decorative 2-1/4" Belgium Top Handrail for a premium, architectural finish. Infill Detail: The balusters/pickets consist of 3/4" x 3/4" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square pickets, providing a robust and timeless look. Finish: Finished in a Standard Black coating for long-lasting durability and resistance to the elements. The client needed a secure, high-end perimeter solution that integrated seamlessly with their existing architecture. By attaching the iron fence directly to the brick wall and matching a 6' high gate to the specific style of the property, we provided a secure entrance that enhances the home's curb appeal while maintaining the structural integrity of the masonry.
