This project in Lorton involved the design and installation of a massive, fully custom aluminum cable railing system for a multi-level waterfront property. The goal was to provide high-end safety and structural integrity while maintaining the incredible views of the water. Craftsmanship & Material Details: Premium Framing: The system is built using high-durability 1 5/8" OD Schedule 40 Aluminum Pipe and 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" aluminum square tubing for a clean, modern profile. Marine-Grade Cable: We utilized 1/8" 1x19 Type 316 Stainless Steel Cable, which is essential for preventing corrosion in a coastal environment like this. Face-Mounted Engineering: To maximize the usable deck space, we used a specialized face-mounted system for all nine sections of the railing. Complex Geometry: A major highlight of this job was the fabrication of a 35-foot curved aluminum section, precision-engineered to follow the unique radius of the property's architectural design. Architectural Finish: The entire aluminum structure was finished in a white powder coat, providing a sleek, low-maintenance look that contrasts beautifully with the surroundings.
