This project in Ijamsville focused on enhancing a large exterior entryway with a pair of custom-fabricated iron railings. Each railing spans approximately 24 feet, providing a continuous, secure handrail for the full length of the front steps. Craftsmanship & Material Details: Structural Framing: The railings are built using steel square posts for maximum durability. Handrail Profile: The top rail features a specialized steel bar channel and steel cover rail, providing a clean, architectural finish and a comfortable grip. Ornamental Pickets: We utilized decorative balusters to bring a refined, custom look to the entryway, moving away from a basic industrial aesthetic. Core-Drilled Engineering: For maximum structural stability, we utilized a core-drilling technique to set the posts deep into the stone steps. Seamless Finish: To ensure a clean and professional look at the base of each post, we installed shoe covers that perfectly conceal the drill points and integrate the ironwork with the masonry. Protective Finish: The steel was treated with a professional primer and finished in a classic black paint to withstand the outdoor elements. This installation shows how we combine heavy-duty structural mounting with clean finishing details to provide a rock-solid safety solution that still looks intentional and refined.
