Capitol Iron Works completed the fabrication and installation of a custom Iron Railing for a Residential project in Bethesda, MD. This project highlights our ability to blend classic decorative elements with sturdy structural support. Design Style: Traditional design featuring Vertical twisted lines and ornamental scrollwork. Structural Components: The framework utilizes 1" x 1" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square posts for maximum stability, topped with a 1" x 1/2" x 1/8" Steel Bar Channel. Infill Detail: The balusters feature 1/2" Twisted Bars accented with decorative S-Scrolls for a classic, high-end look. Finish: Completed with professional-grade finishing and Shoe Covers at the base of each 1/2" Steel Square Post for a clean, polished appearance. The client on Glenwood Road needed a railing solution that provided safety without looking utilitarian. By incorporating twisted bars and S-scrolls, we enhanced the home's architectural character while meeting all structural safety requirements. This project is a great example of our custom metalwork capabilities in the Maryland area.
