Capitol Iron Works completed the Fabrication and Installation of two custom Iron Gates for a residential property on Leverton Road in Rockville, MD. These gates were specifically engineered to provide both high-end curb appeal and enhanced security for the homeowner.Design Style: Functional Modern design featuring custom narrow spacing for maximum security. Structural Components: The frames were built using 1-1/2" x 14 GA A513 Square Steel Tube for a lightweight yet incredibly strong structure, supported by 1" x 1" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square posts. Infill Detail: To meet the client's safety needs, we used 1/2" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square pickets with custom spacing—ensuring no gaps wider than 2 inches. The assembly is held together with 1" x 1/2" x 1/8" A-36 Steel Bar Channels. Finish: Finished in a Conventional Black Paint for a classic, clean look that protects the metal from the elements. Hardware: Heavy-duty hinges and a secure latch system for smooth, daily operation. The Problem We Solved: The client needed to secure their property perimeter while ensuring their small pets could not slip through the gate. We designed and fabricated these two 3'6" wide gates with tight 2-inch spacing, providing a "puppy-safe" solution that looks elegant and professional This project is a great example of our custom metalwork capabilities in the Rockville and Montgomery County area.
