Traditional Wrought Iron Railing Replacement – Residential Exterior – 15th Street SE, Washington DC
Capitol Iron Works completed the fabrication and installation of a custom Iron Railing for a residential project in Washington, DC. We handled the full removal of the existing structure and replaced it with a high-quality, custom-engineered solution. Design Style: Traditional design featuring Vertical pickets and ornamental accents. Structural Components: All posts and frames are constructed from 1" x 1" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square tubing, providing superior structural integrity. Infill & Ornamental Detail: The project features 1/2" x 1/2" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel Square bar balusters, complemented by a Molded Top Bar and Solid 1/2" Ring accents for a classic, high-end aesthetic. Finish: Finished in a Conventional Black Paint for a timeless look and protection against the elements. Additional Work: We also performed a precision Iron Latch Repair on the existing gate to ensure full functionality and security. The Problem We Solved The client needed to replace a worn, approximately 10-foot section of exterior railing that had reached the end of its lifespan. We provided a durable, aesthetically pleasing replacement that restores the home's safety and curb appeal while fixing a broken gate latch that had become a security concern. This project is a prime example of our dedication to high-end custom metalwork throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Beyond just fabrication, we provide durable solutions that blend structural security with impeccable design. Operating out of our Gaithersburg-based shop, we transform industrial materials into architectural features that significantly enhance any property’s curb appeal and value.
