Capitol Iron Works completed the fabrication and installation of a custom Aluminum Railing for a residential project in New Market, MD. This project focused on blending classic ornamental aesthetics with the low-maintenance benefits of high-quality aluminum. Design Style: Traditional design featuring a slight curve to follow the architectural lines of the home. Structural Components: All posts were constructed using 1" x 1" x 1/8" Aluminum Square Tube, paired with a decorative 1-3/4" Aluminum Handrail Molding. Infill Detail: The balusters consist of 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/16" Aluminum Square Tube secured with 1" x 1/2" x 1/8" Aluminum Channel. Finish: Finished in a White Powder Coat for a clean, elegant look and long-lasting durability against the elements. Ornamental Touch: Custom Aluminum Newel Post Balls (1") were added to the post tops for a polished, classic finish. The Problem We Solved: The client needed a durable, rust-proof railing solution that complemented the traditional style of their home. By using aluminum with a high-quality powder coat, we provided a lightweight yet sturdy railing that offers a significant upgrade over wood or vinyl without the maintenance of wrought iron.
