This client reached out to us wanting to refresh their backyard with new pavers. On day 1, the team got there and removed the entire existing patio. While they were prepping the base material for the new patio, they came to find that the water table was extremely high in this area. Without installing a comprehensive drain system, this would not work with new pavers. They would be jumbled up in a couple of years due to freeze/thaw in MN. After a couple of discussions with this homeowner, a plan to install flagstone on an open graded base so that the freeze/thaw cycle would not mess with the patio, was decided on. After the patio was installed, we also installed an aluminum pergola for them to relax under! This project took a lot of problem solving, and the client was extremely happy with how it turned out.
