Traditional Iron Entry Railings – Gaithersburg, MD
Capitol Iron Works successfully executed the expedited fabrication and installation of custom ornamental iron railings for a residential entryway in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This project focused on enhancing the safety and curb appeal of the home's front brick steps with a design that complements the existing architecture. A timeless, traditional aesthetic featuring vertical balusters and decorative elements. The assembly utilizes 1" square posts for a solid foundation, topped with a specialized molding cap rail for a comfortable and classic grip. The railing features 1/2" square pickets, finished with decorative ball caps on the primary posts to add a touch of sophisticated metalwork. The entire system is coated in a conventional black finish, providing a clean look that highlights the iron's silhouette against the brickwork. To maintain the integrity of the masonry without the need for wall attachments, the railings were core-drilled directly into the steps for a seamless and sturdy fit. The client required a rapid safety solution for their masonry steps that wouldn't compromise the home's visual character. We addressed this by streamlining our process to complete the entire fabrication and installation within seven business days, providing a high-quality, permanent safety upgrade on an accelerated timeline. This installation demonstrates our ability to deliver precision metalwork under tight deadlines for Maryland homeowners. By handling everything from custom shop fabrication in our Gaithersburg facility to specialized on-site core-drilling, we ensure that every residential project meets our standards for structural integrity and ornamental detail.
