Capitol Iron Works recently handled the custom fabrication and installation of custom made iron railings for a residential property located in Bethesda, MD. This project focused on enhancing the safety and visual appeal of the home's exterior entry points, including both the primary front entrance and the steps leading toward the public sidewalk. Classic traditional aesthetics utilizing vertical lines to complement the existing stone and brick masonry. The framework consists of 1" square structural posts and a 1 inch channel supported by a decorative molding top rail for a comfortable grip. The design features 1/2" square pickets, providing a timeless look while ensuring structural stability. The metalwork is coated in a conventional black paint finish, offering a clean, uniform appearance that highlights the iron's detail. The homeowner required a durable, low-maintenance solution to improve accessibility and safety on multiple sets of exterior stairs. By installing custom-fitted iron railings, we provided secure handholds that blend seamlessly with the home's architecture, ensuring the entryway is both functional and welcoming for residents and guests.
