Traditional Wrought Iron Railings – Washington, DC

April 2026

Capitol Iron Works recently completed the custom fabrication and installation of exterior steel railings for a residential property in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC. This project involved enhancing the property’s accessibility and aesthetic by adding durable, hand-crafted safety features to the front entrance aesthetic featuring complement the historic brickwork of the DC area The project utilized 1" Steel Square tubing for the primary supports, topped with channel and a decorative Molded Top Bar for a comfortable and classic grip. The homeowner needed to improve the safety and curb appeal of the front entryway. We designed and installed two five-foot sections of iron railing—one for the brick porch and another for the sidewalk stairs—to provide secure handholds while maintaining the architectural charm of the residence.
