We completed a full roof replacement for this Poway home after removing three existing layers of roofing and uncovering major spacing issues in the original plank decking. During tear-off, our team discovered quarter-inch gaps between the wood planks, which required the roof to be fully resheeted in order to create a proper foundation for the new roofing system. To reinforce the structure and meet modern roofing standards, we installed new 7/16 OSB roof sheathing across the entire roof deck. The waterproofing system included Titanium PSU self-adhered underlayment in vulnerable leak-prone areas along with Titanium 30 synthetic underlayment throughout the remaining roof field for enhanced moisture protection and durability. For the finished roofing material, we installed Owens Corning Duration COOL architectural shingles in the Sand Castle color. This premium 50-year roofing system provides strong wind resistance, improved curb appeal, and energy-efficient cool roof performance designed to help reduce heat absorption and comply with California roofing requirements. The completed project transformed the home with a fully upgraded roofing system built for long-term durability, weather protection, and modern performance.
