Panoramic Glass Wall Transformation
This project involved the complete removal of an existing reinforced concrete exterior wall that contained multiple impact windows and doors. The objective was to transform a segmented façade into a single, expansive opening that would maximize natural light, improve views, and create a seamless connection between the interior living space and the outdoors. The scope included selective demolition of the existing reinforced masonry structure, temporary structural shoring, engineering and installation of new structural supports, and the installation of a custom impact-rated sliding glass door system measuring 25 feet wide by 10 feet high. The finished result converted a traditional wall with several separate openings into a dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass wall, creating a modern open-concept living environment while maintaining compliance with Florida's stringent hurricane and structural requirements. The project required extensive coordination between engineering, permitting, demolition, structural reinforcement, and specialty glazing installation to successfully deliver one of the home's most striking architectural features.
