Mills Elementary School Commercial Re-Roof and Moisture Protection
Secondary Rhodes provided roofing design and project oversight services for the Mills Elementary School roof replacement project in Owasso, Oklahoma. The project involved the complete removal of the existing aging roof system and installation of a new high-performance 2-ply SBS modified bitumen roofing assembly with flood coat and gravel surfacing. The new roof system was engineered for durability, energy efficiency, and long-term weather resistance. Improvements included new polyisocyanurate insulation, high-density cover board, upgraded drainage components, replacement flashing systems, and custom sheet metal edge details. The gravel-surfaced modified bitumen assembly was selected by the owner for its proven performance, puncture resistance, and ability to withstand Oklahoma's demanding wind, hail, and temperature conditions. Completed under occupied-school conditions, the project emphasized safety, daily quality control inspections, and minimal disruption to campus operations. The finished roofing system is backed by a comprehensive 30-year manufacturer's warranty and provides Mills Elementary with a resilient, low-maintenance roofing solution designed to protect the facility for decades to come.
