We have successfully completed Phase One of the restoration project for the historic Frankfort North Breakwater Lighthouse. This foundational stage focused on critical structural stabilization, weatherproofing and safety preparations to protect the integrity of the landmark. Our team mobilized on-site to perform a meticulous evaluation of the tower’s exterior, securing the weathered iron cladding and addressing key points of concern throughout the lighthouse. We utilized vertical access systems, including specialized rigging and material staging, to ensure safe and efficient execution for the restoration. The team restored the lighthouse Lantern which included cast iron replenishment, new UV resistant laminated safety glass, new bronze fabricated glazing bars and structural sealants. This initial work establishes a clear path to proceed with the comprehensive preservation of the lighthouse. We look forward to continuing our work to preserve this iconic beacon for the Frankfort community.
