We addressed a water damage event in a residential basement in Chicago by performing a comprehensive mitigation and structural drying process. Our team began with a detailed moisture inspection using thermal imaging and digital sensors to map out the extent of the intrusion. We then set up containment barriers to isolate the work area and protect the rest of the home during the remediation phase. To facilitate the drying process, we removed water-impacted luxury vinyl plank flooring and performed flood cuts on the drywall to access the wall cavities. We deployed a series of industrial air movers and dehumidifiers to target the exposed wooden studs and concrete subfloor. Through daily monitoring and moisture tracking, we ensured the structure was thoroughly dried and prepared for subsequent reconstruction.
