🌈 A Home Full of Color: Bold Choices & Custom Details in Graduate Hospital
September 2026
This multi-level interior transformation in Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia proves that a home doesn't have to rely on one neutral color to feel cohesive. Led by crew leader Osman, our team used a thoughtfully varied palette to give each room its own personality while creating a beautiful flow throughout the home. The project covered nearly 2,900 square feet of wall space and included the living room and kitchen, powder room, stairwell, second-floor hallway, primary bedroom, third-floor office, walk-in closet, and primary bathroom. As always, preparation was an essential part of the transformation. Floors and furnishings were protected, cracks and nail holes were patched as needed, glossy surfaces were sanded and cleaned, and areas requiring additional attention were primed before painting. This project also included wallpaper removal and skim coating in the second-floor hallway, an accent wall skim coat, additional kitchen patching, and removal and patching of the existing fireplace complex. The living room and kitchen set the tone with Azure Water BM 677 in Eggshell, applied using Sherwin-Williams Cashmere. Ceiling Bright White SW7007 Flat keeps the space feeling open and bright, while white Semi-Gloss baseboards, windowsills, doors, and frames create crisp contrast. The front door and frame became a standout design moment in Really Teal SW6489 Satin, while the back door and frame were finished in Azure Water BM 677 Semi-Gloss. The powder room takes a completely different direction with the rich, playful combination of Plum Dandy SW6284 Eggshell walls and Verdant SW6713 on the ceiling, baseboards, door, and frame. Using Verdant across multiple architectural surfaces creates an immersive color moment in this smaller space. Moving upstairs, the stairwell and second-floor hallway were refreshed in Pure White SW7005 Eggshell, creating a bright transition between the home's more colorful rooms. The hallway also required wallpaper removal, skim coating, priming, and additional surface preparation before the new finish could be applied. The primary bedroom received Sensitive Tint SW6267 Eggshell, a softer color choice that gives the room a relaxed feel, complemented by white Semi-Gloss baseboards, windowsills, doors, and frames. One of the most distinctive spaces is the third-floor office. The walls were painted Cascade Green SW0066 Eggshell, and the built-ins became a custom feature of their own. The fronts and trim pieces were finished in coordinating Cascade Green Semi-Gloss, while the shelves and interiors received a contrasting dark Semi-Gloss finish, creating depth and highlighting the beautiful arched cabinetry shown in the project photos on page 11. Finally, the walk-in closet and primary bathroom were tied together with Rainwashed SW6211 Eggshell. The bathroom received Sherwin-Williams Duration Home Interior for added durability, along with a fresh white Flat ceiling and white Semi-Gloss trim. From Really Teal and Plum Dandy to Cascade Green, Sensitive Tint, and Rainwashed, this project celebrates color without sacrificing flow or sophistication. The finished home feels fresh, expressive, and completely personalized from floor to floor. 🎨🏡✨
