In the Westchase neighborhood of Tampa Bay, this traditional colonial home had a backyard that simply went dark after sunset — a real frustration for a homeowner who regularly entertained and cooked at an outdoor grill area with no reliable light source. Michael and the Elegant Accents team completed the project in a single day, expanding and refining the property's existing landscape lighting system with seven brass fixtures and adding a dedicated dimmer switch for the newly installed downlights over the grill. The work focused on two areas: uplighting the palms and landscape beds to bring the yard to life with dimension and warmth, and solving the practical challenge of running downlights precisely where they were needed most — directly over the grill. The brass fixtures ensure long-term durability and a finish that complements the home's classic architecture beautifully. The result is a backyard that now feels like a true outdoor living space after dark. The grill area is perfectly illuminated for cooking, and the surrounding landscape glows with an intimate, layered ambiance. Christine was extremely happy with the outcome — she can now see clearly while grilling and no longer needs a cheap supplemental light to get the job done.
