Hydro Jetting of Catch Basin Inlet and Outlet
We recently completed a detailed cleaning of the inlet and outlet of a catch basin using a high-pressure water jet. Initially, we removed a layer of concrete that was covering the clean-out cap and replaced the cap to access the system. Once the clean-out was accessible, we flushed the main line, successfully removing scale buildup, particularly at the 90-degree bends. Although we restored clean water flow, the outflow from Basin 3 remained slow. Upon further investigation, we found the baffle clogged with debris and filth. After clearing the baffle, water began draining from Basin 3 as expected. We then flushed the main line again, addressing slow drainage between Basin 1 and Basin 2, as well as between Basin 2 and Basin 3. After thoroughly flushing these inlets and outlets, the water levels returned to normal, and all basins were draining efficiently. Regular maintenance is key to preventing blockages. It is recommended to pump out debris and clean catch basin inlets and outlets at least once every two years, depending on usage.
