Major Transformation Project: Retaining Wall, Patio, and Drainage for Mr. & Mrs. Veerman! 🤩🛠️ We recently completed a comprehensive, custom project for Mr. & Mrs. Veerman that was all about structure, stability, and stunning outdoor design! This was a multi-phased project requiring the expertise of our Master Handcrafted Team. Phase 1: Foundation and Water Management A successful outdoor space starts beneath the surface. We focused heavily on preparation and protection: Demolition & Grading: We professionally removed and disposed of old dirt to achieve a level surface, ensuring the entire area was leveled and graded to enhance both appearance and functionality. Comprehensive Drainage System: To prevent water issues and protect the new construction, we installed a complete system, connecting existing downspout gutters to channel drainage and strategically placed catch basins around the patio area. Robust Concrete Foundation: Expert framing led to the pouring of a 4-inch deep, high PSI concrete slab to create a robust and lasting foundation for the entire retaining wall area. Phase 2: Handcrafted Structure and Style This phase brought in our masonry and carpentry artisans to build the defining elements of the new space: Custom Retaining Wall: Our master handcrafted team built a stunning, structural retaining wall. This involved careful framing, precise concrete work, and meticulous masonry construction with vertical supports every 3 feet for maximum stability. Client Involvement: Mr. & Mrs. Veerman played a key role in selecting the retainer wall fascia and stone materials, ensuring the final look perfectly matched their vision. Stamped Concrete Patio: We installed a beautiful stamped concrete patio. This decorative concrete work involved imprinting a pattern into the fresh concrete, giving them the high-end look of stone or brick with the durability of concrete. Walk Add-On: Extended the stamped concrete to include a new, seamless walk area. (Optional) Custom Garden Box: Constructed durable, raised garden boxes using 2"x12" boards and strong 4"x6" posts. Phase 3: Landscaping and Finishing Touches The final details bring the entire project to life, focusing on irrigation and planting: Sprinkler System Upgrade: To support their new landscaping, we upgraded their irrigation system by installing two new drip zones and a new control unit. Flower Beds: Integrated new flower beds along the retaining wall and patio, ready for planting. Decoration: Concluded the project with personalized decoration options to perfectly complement their beautiful, newly structured space. Thinking About a Multi-Layered Outdoor Project? Fresh soil preparation, weed protection, and a brand-new retainer wall built with hand-cut stone and decorative caps. Carefully selected plants and garden mix to ensure health and visual harmony. 💧 Drainage & Irrigation Upgrades Outdated corrugated pipes replaced with PVC drainage lines to carry water safely away from the foundation. New irrigation system combining drip lines and sprinklers—watering plants while keeping the house walls protected. Sideyard drainage extended with catch basins and PVC piping to prevent water pooling and foundation stress. 🚶 Functional Sideyard with Walkway & Trash Area Graded and leveled sideyard to manage runoff. Installed a modern gravel and paver walkway for easy access. 🌿 Rodney – Full Gutters, Drainage System, Flagstone Patio & Pergola Alejandro and the Texas Urban Elements Team recently completed a multi-solution project for Rodney’s home, blending function with design. ✅ Seamless Gutters We installed a complete 6” seamless gutter system around the home to properly redirect rainwater away from the foundation, protecting siding, paint, and landscaping while boosting curb appeal. ✅ Drainage System A new PVC storm drainage system was integrated into the gutters and extended to carry roof runoff away from the house.
